A visit from Nanyang Girls’ School, Singapore

On Wednesday and Thursday this week we were very lucky to welcome students and teachers from Singapore’s prestigious Nanyang Girls’ High School.

The students joined classes with their Konan ‘buddies’ and also experienced several Japanese cultural activities, such as Tea Ceremony and making Origami.

On Wednesday afternoon they joined S1 Practical English classes, where they introduced their school and then mingled with our students. It was an excellent chance for our students to really use their English, and for the Nanyang girls to find out about Japanese life and social issues. Both groups of students really enjoyed the experience, and although the visit was brief, many friendships were made.

We are looking forward to renewing our friendship when a group from Konan Girls’ visits Singapore this summer!
